Hermit island
Reserve an island for yourself or your group on Lake Saimaa!
In the Hermit island you can recluse yourself in peace and quiet. At the southern tip of the island there is a campsite for paddlers. The large and cottage-free island is also a great place for hiking and picking up natural delicacies in season. Erakkosaari is an ideal base for nature observation and nature photography. The campsite is located in the middle of some of the best seal waters, so especially in spring, the island is a great place to gesture quietly in respect of the peace of nature.
In spring and summer, paddlers can use the island’s glamping tent with a stove and camping beds for four. Without beds, the tent can accommodate 6 to 8 people on camping mattresses.
The campsites can be beached on two different sides depending on the wind and one beach is a nice sandy beach for waders. A campfire can easily accommodate a group of 10 people for a sausage or other evening entertainment. There are plenty of tent pitches here and there, so you can choose the one you like. There is also a modern, ecological dry toilet on the campsite. Firewood is kept dry and ready for immediate use.
All our campsites are located in the Puumala water area. Camps can be booked individually or you can possibly book several camps for different days to form a ring route, ensuring a safe camp for each night.
